  • Kate Beckinsale works hard, but she plays hard, too—and it usually involves animals like some friendly foxes, toy lions, or her own kitty.
  • In a recent Instagram post, the actress, 49, showed off her miles of toned legs and strong abs in a high-waisted bikini.
  • Kate likes to fuel up on protein before her workouts, which she does six days a week with her trainer.

In case you’re not up to speed, Kate Beckinsale is a big time animal lover. And earlier this month, she explained that someone had gifted her a massive stuffed lion toy for her birthday (so many questions…). Now, that furry friend is back in the mix.

The 49-year-old just dropped a hilarious pic on Instagram of herself “hiding” outside her house while the toy lion rests on her couch. In the photo, Kate is working ruffled, high-waisted bikini bottoms with a strapless orange top and a slouchy green cardigan. Her abs are incredibly toned and she her legs seem to (literally) go on for days in some strappy espadrille heels.

He’ll never find me here,” she joked in the caption. People couldn’t get past her next-level look in the comments. “Ooooooooo La La,” one wrote. “Damn she is always so damn fine… 😍,” another said. “Our queen 🙌,” a third chimed in. Yup, agreed.

FWIW, Kate doesn’t screw around in the gym. Kate previously told Women’s Health that she works out at least six mornings a week and her trainer, Brad Siskind, shared that “the whole hour is work.” Sounds…exhausting.

Kate and Siskind cycle through a ton of different exercises during her workouts, including compound exercises that work at least two muscle groups at once, like bicep curls with a squat, and sit-ups with combination punches.

Those are followed by 90- to 120-second cardio intervals where she will go hard on a rower or VersaClimber. And then Kate repeats the whole thing, adding more resistance, weights, bands, and faster reps as she goes.

Kate also throws home yoga workouts into the mix. Sometimes that means getting her cat Clive into the action at some points, as she casually revealed in a recent Instagram video:

Clive also likes to join Kate for brisk walks on the treadmill here and there, as one does:

Kate told WH that working out is important for her body and mind. “I’m very connected to my body, so if I’m going to experience stress, I’m probably going to experience it physically,” she said. “So it’s usually a good idea for me to go do something physical to get rid of it.”

When it comes to her diet, Kate likes to have enough protein before her workouts (chicken or eggs with grass-fed butter) and then post-workout, it’s usually salads with radishes, brussels sprouts, salmon, and sometimes even potato chips, she told WH.

Love it, Kate. 👏 👏 👏
